A hand-thrown blue-and-white vase from Somayama kiln in Ehime, Japan. Cobalt underglaze moves in fluid lines across a warm white porcelain body. Natural iron speckles appear beneath the glaze — marks of clay and fire. The belly is full, the neck calmly proportioned for stems or empty display. At home on a tea table, shelf or dining surface.
